Rohitashv Gour’s Interview On His Struggles, Fame With Bhabi Ji And His Family

Lehren's exclusive with actor Rohitashv Gour as he talks about his fame with popular sitcom 'Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai', his struggles and family.

&TV’s popular sitcom ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai’ recently completed 1600 episodes. The show has been airing since 2015 and has managed to stay on top of TRP charts in all these years. In a recent interview with us, the show’s lead actor Rohitashv Gour said that he never thought that the show would achieve this milestone.

Rohitashv, who plays the role of Manmohan Tiwari in the show said, “When the show began in 2015, we thought that the audience might not accept its concept. A man loves another man’s wife- we believed that the Indian audience might reject the show right away by calling it vulgar. All the artists assumed that the show will shut in just 3 months and we will have to find some other work. But it’s been 6 years now and is going strong.”

He also mentioned that he wasn’t interested in doing this show when it was first offered to him. Rohitashv said, “I was skeptical about doing it. &TV was a new channel and I thought that the show will not get an audience. But it was my wife who persuaded me to take up this role. She told me that if I am getting a lead role at this age, I shouldn’t throw away this opportunity. And I am so glad that I took her suggestion and came on board.”

When asked about the time when two lead actors, Shilpa Shinde and Saumya Tandon left the show, Rohitashv said, “When Shilpa Shinde quit the show, I got very scared. She was the pillar of the show and was immensely popular among the audience. The Bhabi Ji of the show titled ‘Bhabi Ji’ was going to quit and we all were in a state of panic. But the channel and the producer worked hard. They carried out the auditions and finally found Shubhangi Atre for the role. So, those were some really testing times.”

Rohitashv had struggled for years before finally getting the much-deserved fame. He said, “I was never offered anything served on a platter. I struggled for every single thing.”
