Taarak Mehta Oolta Chashma producer Asit Modi has been in the headlines for the last several months due to the shocking allegations levelled against him by the actors of the show. Some have issued complaints against him for sexual harassment, and some have alleged that he did not pay. After Jennifer Mistry Baniswal and Monika Bhadoriya, former actress Priya Ahuja, who played the role of reporter, has also made shocking allegations against the producer. In a recent interview, Priya spoke about how the behaviour of Asit Modi and his team changed after she married director Malav Rajda.
Speaking with Etimes TV, Priya Ahuja admitted that the artists on the show have gone through mental harassment and that she too was subjected to it. But she did not let all this affect herself because her husband, Malav, who was the director of the show, was earning.
Priya stated that, as far as work is concerned, she has been subjected to unfair treatment. After she got married to Malav, they reduced her track. They dropped her track once she married Malav. It wasn’t the same as it used to be. After becoming pregnant and when her husband, Malav, left the show, she was clueless about her track in the show. She repeatedly messaged Asit Modi to inquire about her track’s appearance in the programme, but he never responded. Sometimes he would comment, “Arre tumhe kaam karne ki kya jarurat, Malav is working na.” She was disappointed with Asit’s comment, as she is an individual and did not get his show before getting married to Malav. She was part of the show before she got married.
She added, “Mujhe aap ne nine months se show par nahi bulaya kyunki your relationship with Malav ended aur uske baad aapne muze makkhi ki tarah show show se nikal kar phek diya.”
