Munawar Faruqui won the first-ever season of Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp defeating Payal Rohatgi, Anjali Arora, Shivam Sharma, and Azma Fallah in the BadAss Finale on Saturday, May 7. Apart from winning the coveted trophy of Lock Upp, the stand-up comedian also received the huge cash prize of Rs 20 lakh, a brand new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, and a completely sponsored trip to Puglia in Italy.
Runner-up Payal Rohatgi, in her recent interview with Lehren, shared her views about Lock Upp’s winner Munawar Faruqui. On being asked about her thoughts about Munawar Faruqui, the actress said, “I would just say that I don’t agree with his ideology, but I don’t hate that person, but at the same time I don’t agree with his views and opinions, so all the best and I hope you have a good life”.
On being asked about who’s game and strategy was the best inside the house, the actress responded saying, ‘Apart from my game I didn’t like anybody’s game inside the house’.

Munawar Faruqui and Payal Rohatgi have been bitter rivals to each other throughout their Lock Upp journey, and were seen having arguments every now and then. In a recent interview, Lock Upp winner Munawar Frauqui told the media that he didn’t want to lose to Payal Rohatgi in the show. While Munawar attacked Payal for being a mean person, she called him a manipulator and someone who hid behind his friends. Talking about his competition in the jail, particularly Payal, the stand-up comic said, “I considered Payal strong competition but I always had this in my heart that such a person shouldn’t win who may or may not take that responsibility on going out. I am nobody to say if she can or cannot live up to that responsibility. But I always thought that the entertainment I provide to people, it’s better than my competition. So I was nervous that I don’t lose to someone who I don’t see as a winner.”
