A source who is close to the show in his latest quote to a leading digital entertainment portal told, “Nimrit is soon going to make her OTT debut as she has an interesting role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming web series, Heeramandi”.
The show is going to have an intriguing plot and storyline which is going to focus more on the tales of courtesans with special emphasis on various unknown cultural aspects of Heera Mandi, Lahore. It is said to be set in the pre-independence India era.
Talking about the web series, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has officially announced announced that his much talked about and highly anticipated digital series Heeramandi would be premiered digitally on the OTT giant streamer Netflix post its completion and this 7 episodic series is going to be helmed by Vibhu Puri.
Also in an earlier interview, the maverick film maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali sharing his thoughts on Heeramandi had said, “Heeramandi is an important milestone in my journey as a filmmaker. This is an epic, first of its kind series based on the courtesans of Lahore. It is an ambitious, grand and all-encompassing series, therefore I am nervous yet excited about making it. I am looking forward to my partnership with Netflix and bringing Heeramandi to audiences all over the world”.
