NCB Officer Reveals Details On Arrest Of Bharti Singh In Drug Case

An official of the Narcotics Control Bureau talks about the arrest of comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh in a drug case.

The Narcotics Control Bureau raided the Mumbai residence of comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa. The couple was arrested after the seizure of ganja from their residence. While interacting with media, an NCB official told that the duo has been booked under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Quilla court sent them to judicial custody till 4 December. According to the NCB officials, “small quantity of cannabis (around 86.5 grams)” was found from their apartment in Mumbai’s Andheri. They were then summoned to the NCB office. During questioning, the couple accepted that they use narcotic substances during questioning.

NCB said in its statement, “Both Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa accepted consuming ganja. Ms Singh was placed under arrest under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1986.”

It is said that though the drugs found was not commercial but could still invite up to 10 years in prison. Meanwhile, the couple has applied for bail.
