Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun will start filming fantasy drama The King: The Eternal Monarch

Lee Min Ho who was discharged for the Korean Military Service on April 25, after a much-needed break has now returned back to filming. Lee Min Ho and co-star Kim Go Eun have begun filming for their upcoming fantasy drama The King: The Eternal Monarch.

Fans were super excited after actor Lee Min Ho completed his army duties today on Apr. 25. Lee Min Ho who was previously injured in a car accident was unable to serve as an active soldier and worked as a social worker in Gangnam. But now fans can’t keep calm as the actor has returned back to acting.

Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun have begun filming for their upcoming drama ‘The King: The Eternal Monarch’ on October 24 in North Chungcheong Province, which happens to be one of the main sets for the drama. This new drama is written by Kim Eun Sook and is about two parallel universes, wherein one, South Korea is ruled by a monarch and in the other universe it is governed by a democracy. Lee in the upcoming drama will essay the role of Emperor Lee Gon, who wants to close the portal between the two dimensions, whereas Kim Go Eun will be seen playing the role of a detective named Jung Tae Eul and who wants to protect people.

Lee Min Ho for his role in this drama was also seen taking lessons for horseback riding, pronunciation, and vocalization. This will also be his first project following his discharge from the military. In a previous interview for a leading magazine open up about his responsibility as an actor to portray his character well. He said, “When [viewers] think of various genres and diverse characters, I hope actor Lee Min Ho is there.”

‘The King: The Eternal Monarch’ expected to premiere in the first half of 2020.
