Kashmera Shah and Krushna Abhishek, who grew close on the sets of their 2007 film Aur Pappu Paas Ho Gaya, recently shared some delightful secrets about their relationship. In a candid conversation during the LOL podcast with Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa, the couple opened up about how their relationship blossomed and the amusing, spontaneous way they got married, almost like playful children.
Kashmera, known for her participation in the very first season of Bigg Boss hosted by Arshad Warsi, revealed that it was during her time in the show that she realized she was deeply in love with Krushna. After the show ended, she wasted no time in reaching out to him to see where their relationship stood. Kashmera shared, “When Bigg Boss finished, I immediately contacted Krushna to see what he was doing, and he told me he was in Varanasi shooting for a Bhojpuri film. Since my name is Kashmera, ‘Kash Mira,’ I made some excuses to meet him. I asked, ‘What are you doing?’ He replied, ‘I’m in Banaras.’ I said, ‘I’ve never been to Varanasi, I really want to visit,’ and he said, ‘Come over.’ So I went there on February 1st, and on February 2nd, we went to the Kashi Vishwanath temple.”
In the podcast, Kashmera and Krushna shared how their playful nature led them to an unexpected yet memorable marriage. Kashmera went on to say, “After we reached the temple, I looked around quietly, and suddenly Krushna applied sindoor on me. He said, ‘From today, we’re married!’ It was just like a child’s game!” Krushna, with a grin, added, “We said there’s no need for a priest, no traditional rituals—God is watching, so it’s done. That’s it, our marriage happened.”
The couple, who had kept this fun and impromptu wedding a secret for years, revealed that they tied the knot on February 2, 2007. Kashmera laughed as she recalled the events, saying, “No one knew about it! It was just between us.”The week after their playful wedding brought more surprises for the couple. Kashmera added, “That Monday, we got married, and by Friday, Krushna’s Bhojpuri film Gavanwa Le Ja Raja was released. It became a super-duper hit! It was his first blockbuster after 24 films. Before we got together, none of his films had taken off, but this one had people sitting on the floors in the theaters to watch it.”
In the same podcast, Krushna and Kashmera also shared that when they first got together, they never expected their relationship to last long. They thought they would part ways after 3 or 6 months. However, as Krushna emphasized during the podcast, “Sometimes, God brings people together and you just know it’s meant to be. That’s what happened with us.”
In the end, the couple reflected on their journey with a sense of gratitude, amazed at how fate played its role in bringing them together and changing their lives in unexpected ways.
