Is Anupamaa’s TRP Declining? Show’s Story So Far

Anupamaa: Star Plus’s TV serial Anupamaa, which premiered in 2020, has since become one of the most popular shows on Indian television. The story revolves around Anupamaa, a homemaker who discovers her husband’s infidelity, prompting her to embark on a journey of self-discovery following her divorce from Vanraj.

Since its inception, the show has experienced numerous twists and turns. After her divorce, Anupamaa finds love once more with Anuj. Despite facing various challenges, they eventually marry. However, even after their wedding, Anupamaa continues to encounter obstacles. Following their marriage, the couple adopts a girl named Choti Anu. Yet, their relationship faces another test as they find themselves drifting apart. Anupamaa relocates to America, but fate has other plans. In a surprising turn of events, Anupamaa and Anuj cross paths once again, leading to their heartfelt reunion.

However, the ongoing twists and turns in Anuj and Anupamaa’s relationship have begun to bore some viewers. Compounding this issue is the replacement of many original cast members, with others exiting the show entirely. Notably, Paras Kalnawat, who portrayed Samar, left in 2022, and his role was subsequently taken over by Sagar Parekh. Ultimately, the character of Samar was written out of the story, being shown as deceased in Anupamaa.

Apart from Paras and Sagar, Muskan Bamne who previously played Pakhi was replaced by Chandni Bhagwanani, Aashish Mehrotra who played Paritosh was replaced by Gaurav Sharma, additionally, recently Sudhanshu Pandey who played “Vanraj” also exited the show, subsequently, Madalsa Sharma who played “Kavya” has also left the show.

Anupamaa’s TRP Dropped

With the departure of many beloved and popular stars from Anupamaa, the TV drama has reportedly experienced a notable decline in TRP ratings over the past few months. Anupamaa, starring Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna, has had a massive fan following since its 2020 debut and has consistently topped the TRP charts, reaching as high as 4.8 TVR. Recently, however, its ratings have dipped to 2.5-2.6 TVR, sparking concerns about potential viewer boredom with the storyline.
