“I was very scared when Shilpa Shinde left Bhabi Ji,” says Rohitashv Gour

Actor Rohitashv Gour, who plays the role of Manmohan Tiwari in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai, recalls the time when Shilpa Shinde quit the show.

&TV’s ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai’ has been entertaining the Indian audience for 6 years now. First aired on 2 March 2015, the show recently completed 1600 episodes. In these 6 years, the show had its ups and downs. When Bhabi Ji was at its peak, stepping up the TRP charts each day, its lead Shilpa Shinde decided to quit.

Shilpa had simply won everyone’s hearts with her role of innocent Angoori Bhabhi. And after one year of her stint in the show, when she quit in March 2016, the makers of the show and the channel had a hard time replacing her.

Recalling that time, actor Rohitashv Gour said, “When Shilpa Shinde quit the show, I got very scared. She was the pillar of the show and was immensely popular among the audience. The Bhabi Ji of the show titled ‘Bhabi Ji’ was going to quit and we all were in a state of panic. But the channel and the producer worked hard. They carried out the auditions and finally found Shubhangi Atre for the role. So, those were some really testing times.”

Rohitashv Gour plays the role of Manmohan Tiwari (Angoori’s husband) in the show. He says that the audience initially found it hard to accept Shubhangi as Angoori. But eventually, with her sheer talent, she managed to make a special place in people’s hearts.

On the other hand, after quitting Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai, Shilpa Shinde participated in Bigg Boss and emerged out to be a winner.
