Kashmera Shah, the Indian actress who entered the film industry in the late ’90s, made her mark not only in films but also on television. Known for her bold and outspoken personality, she became famous for being strict and having a no-nonsense attitude. However, few people know the other side of Kashmera—her funny and playful nature. Recently, her husband, comedian Krushna Abhishek, revealed that the strict image she portrayed on reality TV, especially in Bigg Boss, was just an act. “Bigg Boss mein yeh acting kar rahi thi,” Krushna Abhishek says in a recent podcast, pointing out how people don’t realize how naturally funny she is in real life.
During a conversation on the ‘LOL’ podcast hosted by Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa, Harsh mentioned how amusing it is to see Kashmera Shah and Krushna Abhishek together on Colors TV’s show “Laughter Chefs – Unlimited Entertainment.” That’s when Krushna opened up about his wife’s true personality, revealing a side of her that the audience rarely sees. “Yeh asal mein Kashmera ke jo one-liners hain, kisi ko pata nahi hai ki yeh funny hai,” Krushna Abhishek says. He explained that Kashmera doesn’t participate in podcasts, doesn’t make funny reels, and rarely shares her comedic side with the public, which is why people don’t know how humorous she actually is.
Kashmera then chimed in to clear the air regarding her longstanding strict image which she had been tagged with for almost two decades. She admitted that her primary thinking language is Marathi or English, not Hindi. “Main jo sochti hu Marathi mein sochti hu ya fir English mein sochti hu,” she said, adding that it was Krushna who taught her Hindi. Her social circle consisted mostly of people who spoke English, so her natural fun side was known only to a few close friends. “Main unko bahut hasati thi jo mere English friends hain, jaise Salman Khan jinke sath maine 2-3 filmein ki hain,” she added, sharing how her humorous side was well-known among her friends in Bollywood.
Reflecting on her public persona, Kashmera said that people perceived her as strict because of the way she handled certain situations, especially with people who misbehaved. “Main strict un logon ke sath hu jo badtameezi karte hain,” she said. But in reality, she is amusing and fun-loving. Krushna further clarified that Kashmera has always been someone who doesn’t tolerate nonsense from anyone, whether in her career or personal life. “Kashmera unn logon mein se hai jo kisi ka bhi sh*t nahi leti,” he said, giving an example of how she doesn’t fear speaking her mind, regardless of the consequences.

Harsh Limbachiyaa, during the podcast, highlighted how Kashmera appeared cute and funny on the show “Laughter Chefs,” even though she had always been beautiful. Kashmera herself admitted that being called cute was a new experience for her. “Main cute kabhi nahi thi, cute word mere sath suna hi nahi,” she joked. She went on to share a humorous incident from a recent shopping trip for the Ganpati festival. Someone at the store told her how much they adored her and how cute they thought she was. Kashmera, amused, called Krushna immediately to share the news, saying, “Main kalr wapas Laughter Chefs ke show pe aane wali hu.”
Krushna added that earlier, people took selfies with Kashmera because she was an actress who had appeared in certain movies. Now, however, they take pictures with her because they genuinely love her for who she is—funny, real, and down-to-earth.
Kashmera Shah first gained national attention as a contestant on the inaugural season of Bigg Boss in 2006, where her fierce and straightforward attitude left a lasting impression. While many people remember her for that, Kashmera’s fun and goofy side is something only those close to her have witnessed.
