Hina who became a household and reputed nationally loved name with her stellar portrayal of Akshara Singhania in the mega soap opera, says that the love and response that she received for the role still overwhelms her after all these years.
Hina in the interview opening up about her life after Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai came in her life where she even had a 8 years successful and fruitful long run in the show, said, “After Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Akshara came into my life, it definitely changed things around for me. People associated me so strongly with the show and character that it did become a name in every household. The love, appreciation and positive response I received for the role is something that overwhelms me till date”.
Hina also mentioned that the show still works because it has continued in maintaining the values that are loved and cherished in the middle class indian households even today. Explaining more on this point, Hina says, “The concept of a joint family, traditions, values and being there for your loved ones through the good and the bad days is what worked well for the show. At the end of the day our Indian culture is all about family and staying true to our roots and customs. Over the years, ‘Yeh Rishta…’ has managed to maintain these elements well into the show”.
Spilling love for Akshara that her fans also love along with Hina herself as well, she elucidated, “Akshara was a soul filled with positivity and so much love, warmth and care, which was the most beautiful part about the character. Her family was the start and end point of her life, and the way Akshara has loved and looked out for them in those eight years is what I thoroughly enjoyed portraying”.
Indeed, it can be said that yes Akshara ended up changing a lot in Hina’s professional life whereby in the last 12 years till now, Hina walked the Cannes International Film Festival Red Carpet, became a reality TV diva star with her successful stint in Bigg Boss 11 and Khatron Ke Khiladi, also had her kind of brush in Bollywood along with permanently cementing and strengthening her position as one of the highest paid Indian TV stars in our tinsel town industry.
Speaking in detail about her journey in YRKKH, Hina adds, “My journey post ‘Yeh Rishta…’ has been full of surprises and wonderful opportunities. I really got a chance to experiment with the kind of roles I wanted to try out, the kind of mediums I wanted to be a part of and explore other spaces as an actor. I am happy with the projects I have been a part of over the last few years, as each of them has contributed a lot to my personal and professional growth in many ways”.
Hina also expressing her happiness on how huge the show has become elaborated, “I think it is fantastic that the show has been able to survive this long. It has become a brand of its own, and it is definitely considered to be one of the most iconic shows on television at the moment”.
Having been the main protagonist of the show in almost 8 out of 12 years till now, there’s not a single best memory in Hina’s mind since there are tons. Concluding the interview, Hina signed off by saying, “Eight long years have given me tons of memories to cherish for a lifetime. There is nothing I can specifically pick out. Every day on the ‘Yeh Rishta…’ set was a memorable one, and those days gave me some of the best moments of my life”.
