The recent uproar in high-profile assault cases, including the Kolkata doctor rape case and the Badlapur sexual assault case, has ignited widespread outrage around the nation, leading netizens down streets protesting in seek of justice. Amid this national uproar, popular television actors Geetanjali Mishra and Rohitashv Gour have come forward to voice their strong reactions and highlighted the points of quick action as the solution.

In an exclusive interview with Lehren, Geetanjali Mishra, known for her role in ‘Happu Ki Ultan Paltan’ has expressed her frustration with the Indian legal system’s handling of assault cases. She questioned why there is such a delay in punishing culprits when we have clear evidence against them.

Geetanjali further pointed out the fear that goes with parents daily, worrying about their daughters’ safety to let them go out at night after 7 or 10 pm. She remarked, “Why are we burning Raavan during Dussehra in the name of ending negativity? If we are doing so then we should also put down the real Raavans who commit crimes and harm others.”

Rohitashv Gour known for his role in ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai’, who is also serving as President of the All India Artists Association, has shared his concerns too. He emphasized that political parties should keep their rivalries aside and unite to bring stronger laws, introducing quick and strong death penalties for severe crimes. Gour believes that if such significant legal laws aren’t created then the current system will fail to deliver justice effectively.
