Jitu Shivhare: Playing ‘Gadha Prasad’ In Chidiya Ghar Made Me ‘Gadha’ In Real Life Too

Actor Jitu Shivhare, who rose to fame with his character of 'Gadha Prasad' reveals why he had to take a break after the show ended.

Do you remember Sony SAB’s popular sitcom ‘Chidiya Ghar’ that aired from 28 November 2011 to 2 October 2017? The show had talented actors like Rajendra Gupta, Mamta Gurnani, Shilpa Shinde and Paresh Ganatara in lead roles. However, the role of Gadha Prasad (the servant of the house) gained massive attention and appreciation from the audience.

The role of Gadha Prasad was played by actor Jitu Shivhare. During our recent conversation with him, we asked if he ever feared being stereotyped in the industry due to his role of ‘Gadha Prasad’. He replied, “Yes, it was a challenge for me. When the show came to an end, it was a big task for me to figure out what to do next! I got myself off the grid for a few days. I started taking workshops and worked on myself. After playing that character for a long time, I felt like ‘Gadha’ in real life too.”

However, Jitu Shivhare has returned onscreen to entertain his fans. His film ‘Urf Ghanta’ was released on Shemaroo Me App earlier this month. The film also stars popular actor Ravi Kishan in the role of God.

Talking about the film, Jitu said, “It is a fun, drama film. It showcases the journey of a common man named Ghanta. His actual name is Ghanteshwar Prasad, but people lovingly call him ‘Ghanta’. He is a very spiritual and cultured man.”
