The latest song from Rashami Desai and Tanuj Virwani starrer Tandoor which would soon be streaming on the Ullu app, has released a new song titled Tujh Bin which has been receiving an overwhelming response and speaking about the heartwarming love and response with the song crossing 1 million views already, Chitra Vakil Sharma opens up on Tujh Bin crossing 1 million views.

Sung by Arsh Mohammed, Tujh Bin has been written by Neetu Saini and composed by Ankit Shah. The music of this soulful rendition has been programmed by Ankit and Soumajit Biswas.

In today’s day and age, the easiest way to gauge how something has fared is to check the response online, says Chitra Vakil Sharma. Expressing gratitude for all the love that the song Tujh Bin from the web series Tandoor has been garnering, the producer shares everything about this track is special. Actors Rashami Desai and Tanuj Virwani, who play the leading role in the series, also feature in the song.

The song is the brain child of our director Nivedita Basu who has constantly been working to and fro to get the right chord and on this, Chitra says, “Arsh Mohammad’s magical voice has done perfect justice to Neetu Saini lyrics and Ankit Saini’s music. The song has crossed over a million hits quite early. We are very happy, the response has been quite reassuring. Thanks to all the people out there who have liked the song. The onscreen chemistry of #tarash (that’s how Tanuj and Rashami’s fans address them) is a super hit”, says the co-producer of Tandoor, which is being helmed by Nivedita Basu.

The concept of songs isn’t common in web series, unlike what it is in films. Speaking on what made them take this less taken path, Chitra adds, “Songs have been an internal part of our storytelling experience in movies since the beginning. Now since web series are the entertainment of the future, it made sense to incorporate the one thing that makes our stories so loved and appreciated. Tujh Bin is a very sensual, sentimental and catchy song and perfect for dedications to loved ones. These are the reasons why the song has connected so well with music lovers. We are enjoying all the love coming our way”.

Chitra reveals that they have another song ready for Tandoor. If all goes well, it will be launched next week and sharing some scoop on same, Chitra said, “Personally, I love everything about Tujh Bin. The music, lyrics, voice, the vibrant colours and the sizzling chemistry between Rashami and Tanuj on screen, the emotions… I’m listening to the song on loop. I remember, even while shooting the set would get lively every time this song was played”.

Praising Nivedita’s craft, Chitra says that the former is known for her meticulous approach. She also heaps praises on Rashami and Tanuj along with mentioning, “Nivedita was always sure about the story and the cast. Her presentation and choice of actors are exceptionally good. Everyone is appreciating Rashami and Tanuj’s on screen chemistry. I’m thankful to God that the fresh pairing has generated a lot of positive aura around Tandoor”.

Recently, the trailer of Tandoor was unveiled and speaking about it, she says, “The response around the trailer has been overwhelming. Apart from trending on social media, the kind of reaction and conversation it has generated is interesting. And, the appreciation is what makes your effort worthwhile”, she sounds emotional.

On the OTT boom and how it has changed things around us, especially when theatres are still not fully functional, she says, “It’s sad that most theaters are still shut and it’s affected the industry in general.  That’s probably one of the reasons for the OTT boom. Having said that, OTTs are here to stay and the web series that are being churned out in India nowadays are experimental and interesting. Tandoor is one such web series… We’ve 3 more web series in the pipeline, one of them we shall start the shot by August end to be directed by Nivedita Basu”.
