The entire cast of Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan is mourning the demise of their co-actor Arvind Trivedi who passed away on Oct 5. Arvind played the role of Raavan in 1987’s iconic mythological TV series. He was 82-years-old and suffered a heart attack last night. His nephew told that he was having age-related illnesses for the last couple of years.
His demise has left his co-actors, family, friends and admirers in grief. Actor Sunil Lahri, who played the role of Lakshman in Ramayan, took to his social media platform to pay a tribute to the late actor. He wrote, “Bahut dukhad Samachar hai ki Hamare Sabke Pyare Arvind bhai (Ravan of Ramayan) Ab Hamare bich Nahin Rahe Bhagwan Unki Atma ko Shanti De…I am speechless I lost father figure, my guide, well wisher & gentleman.”
Actor Dipika Chikhlia, who essayed the role of Sita in the show, also shared her condolences. She wrote, “my heart felt condolences to his family …a very fine human being #arvindtrivedi #ravan.”
Actor Arun Govil, who played Lord Ram in the series, also offered his condolences.
Apart from Ramayan, Arvind Trivedi had worked in Doordarshan shows like Vikram Aur Betaal. He also contributed to Gujarati cinema for 40 years.
