Bhumi Pednekar was spotted at the launch of MTV’s next new venture titled, “MTV Nishedh”. For this series, MTV has partnered with Bhumi Pednekar and have named her their Brand Ambassador.
Talking about “MTV Nishedh”, it is a collaborative effort between MTV Stay Alive Foundation and Viacom 18. This series will consist of 13 fictional episodes, each showcasing a taboo topic in our society. MTV’s new venture will cover most of the stigmatized topics in our culture such as teen pregnancy, contraceptive care, tuberculosis amongst the young people, and also nutrition. The show will highlight the trials and tribulations faced by many young people in today’s India while discussing the above mentioned taboo topics with their family.
The outspoken Bhumi Pednekar is the best choice by MTV for spreading such crucial messages amongst the masses. With their #KhulKeBol, “MTV Nishedh” will surely break into some age-old stigmas held captivated by the Indians about sexual health, abortion, TB, and many more.
In yesterday’s launch, Bhumi seemed elated to have become the Brand Ambassador for such a great cause. She further added that she herself tries to break certain stigmas with the role she portrays in her movies. And surely with movies like “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha “and “Dum Laga Ke Haisha”, Bhumi has successfully normalized the talks regarding the topics mentioned in these movies.
Regarding the star cast of “MTV Nishedh”, we will see Shivam Patil, Malhar Rathod, Priya Chauhan, Sayed Riaz Ahmed sharing the screen space. "MTV Nishedh" is slated to air on 25 January at 8 PM on MTV. And it will also be available on Colors Rishtey starting from 1 February.
