Rahul Raj Singh Takes An Indirect Dig At Yuzvendra Chahal’s Divorce Rumours: “…Aaj Karma Dekho”

Actor-producer Rahul Raj Singh, who faced severe allegations following the tragic death of his late girlfriend Pratyusha Banerjee has recently opened up about the lack of support he received during that period. In a recent conversation, Rahul Raj Singh discussed the people he thought would stand by him including including Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal who once called him an “elder brother”.

Pratyusha Banerjee known for her role in Balika Vadhu, died by suicide in 2016. After which Rahul was accused for emotional, physical and financial harrassing his late ex-girlfriend. Despite receiving anticipatory bail, he faced public scrutiny and personal struggles. Reflecting on this challenging time, Rahul said “No one stood by me and it saddens me deeply”.

Discussing his relationship with Yuzvendra Chahal, Rahul shared that the cricketer had previously called him an elder brother in public. “Yuzvendra Chahal, the cricketer, once said in an interview that I am like an elder brother to him,” Rahul revealed in recent interview with Siddharth Kannan. When asked if Chahal reached out to him during the controversy, Rahul admitted, “Nahi, phone bhi nahi kiya mujhe” (No, he didn’t even call me).

Rahul further remarked, “Baat toh dekho aur aaj karma dekho” (Look how things turned out, and now look at karma). His statement seemed to be an indirect reference to Chahal’s current personal life struggles including ongoing divorce rumours with his wife Dhanashree Verma.

According to Rahul Raj Singh, he once shared a strong bond with Yuzvendra Chahal. However, when faced with allegations and public backlash, even those he considered close friends in the industry like Chahal, Gurmeet Chaudhary, Rohit Roy and Karanveer Mehra, did not support him neither made a phone call. Rahul frustratingly prompted, “Mera personal life destroyed ho raha hai, main nahi bolta mere liye ho raha hai… inka nature helpful nahi hai!” (My personal life was being destroyed, and I’m not saying it was for me… they’re just not helpful by nature).

Yuzvendra Chahal’s Current Struggles

Yuzvendra Chahal married Dhanashree Verma in December 2020 but recent reports suggest that their relationship is under the rock. The couple has deleted their photos from social media, which has fueled rumours of a possible divorce. Also according to reports in India.com, Chahal may have to pay an alimony of ₹60 crores if the separation goes through.

Rahul’s Life After Pratyusha’s Passing

After Pratyusha’s death, Rahul struggled with depression and turned to alcohol to cope. Over time, he has rebuilt his life, finding solace with his wife Saloni Sharma and their 2-year-old daughter. He is now focused on living a better life and leaving behind the controversies that once engulfed him.
