We have spoken to the show runner of the show Amber Wasi who told us why this show will be different from the others. “I know Chitra Vakil Sharma for the last 5-6 years. She is the producer of Tandoor and  trusts her team completely, It’s an awesome quality to have. When I heard the concept of Tandoor first I was reluctant to do a show on Ullu but it was Chitra who convinced me for this. We as a team believe that Tandoor will make a huge difference and will create a new phase for Ullu”.

Amber who hails from Lucknow is in Mumbai for the last 18 years and has directed some great shows like Masterchef, Shakti, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Uttaran, Balika Vadhu. Speaking about Tandoor, he says, “Once we decided to make this show we aimed to make the best show. I feel Tandoor will reach the scale of Delhi Crimes. Though our budget was much lesser but we have tried our level best”.

Speaking about the lead Rashami and Tanuj, Amber says, “I have worked with Rashami in Uttaran. She is a talented actress and has a huge fan following. Tanuj is also someone who has proved himself in the web space. I have also played a small part in Tandoor and have one scene with Tanuj, he made me very comfortable there”.

About the captain of the ship Nivedita Basu Amber says, “She has unbelievable patience which is a great quality of a director. I don’t have that much of patience. She has done a great job. The USP of Tandoor is the story, it’s gripping and engaging. And no one has made something like this before”.

Amber is currently busy in the process of shooting for a series on Amazon which he has written and produced.
