Adil Khan was arrested by Mumbai Police after Rakhi Sawant accused him of fraud and physical abuse. Rakhi Sawant and Adil Khan Durrani got married in July 2022 according to Muslim traditions. However, they kept it a secret until Rakhi uploaded the videos and pictures of their wedding a few weeks ago.
Last week, she came out in the media and accused Adil of having an affair. Yesterday, she went to the police station and filed an official complaint against him. She alleged that he has cheated her monetarily. Later, she also claimed that Adil physically abused her.
Today morning, Adil Khan’s lawyer addressed the case. He said to the media, “In her initial complaint, she said that my client has defrauded her monetarily. So, he was booked under Section 406, 323, 504 and 507 (2). My client was arrested from Rakhi Sawant’s home when he had visited her to pack his clothes. And he went there because Rakhi had called him. After the police brought him in, they served him the notice of Sec 41. They then recorded the detailed statement of my client where he cleared all details about the money matter. Infact, he told the police that he is the one who spent a lot of money on her. The moment Rakhi came to know that all the things have been clarified in the police station and she thought that Adil will walk away free legally, then she again came to the police station and made allegations under section 376 and 377. This is completely a false allegation and it was done in after-thought manner.”
Talking about Rakhi Sawant’s claim of fraud, “Even we have agreed to present the bank statement to the police. We have presented the personal account details and the statement of joint account that Adil has with Rakhi. Let the police investigate. The truth will come forward. The main thing is that the business account of Rakhi and Adil was a joint account. Whenever a transaction was made through that account, they received an OTP of 6 digits, out of which, 3 digits were sent to Adil and 3 to Rakhi. The transaction could take place only after they both compile their OTPs and enter the 6 digits. So, this fact is enough in itself to prove that my client is innocent.”
Rakhi even accused Adil of stealing her car and parking it at his girlfriend’s apartment. Reacting to this, Adil’s lawyer said, “It is completely false. The car belongs to my client. And it is parked at Rakhi Sawant’s residence and even the keys are there. Let police recover the car, the truth will come out itself.”
Rakhi told the media that Adil has a criminal record and there are several criminal cases already going on against him, of which she came to know about after marriage. To this, Adil’s lawyer said, “I am not aware of it. But even if it is true, it is normal. The cases are in process and he has not been convicted. He is innocent until proven guilty.”
