Bhabhi Ji Ghar Pe Hai’s Shubhangi Atre Separates From Husband After 19 Years

Shubhangi Atre who became household name for her character Angoori Bhabhi in the popular comedy show ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain’ has separated from her husband Piyush Poorey after 19 years.

The pair tied the knot in 2003 and have a teenage daughter Ashi. Her husband is in digital marketing and they have not been living together for over a year. Talking to the Times of India, Shubhangi shared that they tried their best to save the marriage but they could not resolve the differences between them. She said, “We have not been living together for more than a year. I understand mutual respect, trust, companionship, and friendship are essential for a strong marriage. We gave each other space after things didn’t work out and we decided to focus on our individual lives and work.”

Shubhangi, who has been part of shows like Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kasturi and Chidiya Ghar also shared that it was not easy to choose this path but they will remain on cordial terms because of their 18-year-old daughter. “She deserved love from both her mother and father. Piyush comes on Sundays to meet her. I don’t want her to be deprived of her father’s love,” said Shubhangi.
