Amit stirred a debate by accusing Abhijeet Sawant and the show’s organizers of manipulating voting results to secure Abhijeet’s victory. Among the allegations, Amit claimed that his voting lines were deliberately blocked by the show’s creators two days prior to the finale to ensure Abhijeet’s triumph. Responding to these accusations, Abhijeet retaliated, labeling Amit as ‘naive’ in an interview with News 18 Showsha.
Abhijeet elaborated that winning a reality show involves multiple factors and singled out Amit’s claim by highlighting the presence of various talented contestants in the competition. He emphasized that Amit’s assumption of being unfairly targeted was unfounded, given the diversity of talent showcased on the show.
Expressing his views further, Abhijeet remarked on the widespread voting scenario, stating that both contestants received nationwide votes, making it implausible for one participant to be receiving votes while the other was not. He also recalled the stringent monitoring of Indian Idol’s first season by an international team, who were consistently present on set during the competitionAbhijeet added, “I feel, his people have conveyed such allegations to him and it can be sentimental also. It can be their own opinion also. The entire India was voting for us. How is it possible that one of us was getting votes and the other one wasn’t? Indian Idol 1 was also being monitored by the international team. I remember they used to be there on sets all the time.”
Amit’s recent statement made after almost two decades, alleging political influence behind Abhijeet’s victory, the singer addressed the claims, asserting that the voting process was impartial and transparent.
The exchange between Amit Sana and Abhijeet Sawant has rekindled discussions about the integrity of reality TV competitions.
