Cody Simpson Confirms His Latest Single Is About His Famous Exes Including Miley Cyrus

Previously, Cody Simpson penned about his relationship with Disney alum Miley Cyrus.

Cody Simpson has revealed his newest song Nice To Meet You is about one of his famous exes. The 25-year-old singer-turned-Olympic hopeful made the admission on the Today show on Tuesday, admitting the tune is personal. “I wrote it about a past relationship in the sense of being glad something happened as opposed to being sad something ended,” Cody said.

“It all just fell into place once I had that title in my head,” he added. Cody went on to say he was able to take time off his busy swimming schedule to work on the new music. “I had just qualified for my first Olympic trial when my coach said I get an adaptation week,” Cody said.

Cody continues, “I was in the studio from noon until midnight for eight days.” However, it’s not the first time Simpson has drawn creative inspiration from his relationships. In 2019, he penned the single Golden Thing about his relationship with Cyrus. Cody has had a list of famous exes including supermodel Gigi Hadid and reality star turned beauty-mogul, Kylie Jenner.

Meanwhile, Disney alum Miley Cyrus recently made headlines as she suffered a major wardrobe fail while co-hosting her New Year’s Eve Party special on NBC with Pete Davidson, which was streamed live from Miami, Florida on Friday night. The 29-year-old Hannah Montana alum was performing a hit single Party In The USA just moments after the clock struck midnight when her top, which was held together by silver straps, came undone.

Miley was forced to catch it with her hands and appeared stunned as she looked down at her chest. However, Cyrus swiftly made her way backstage while her band and backup singers did their best to carry on the stalled performance. Moments later, Miley reemerged wearing a bright red blazer in place of her broken top and, referencing one of the line’s in Party In the USA, joked that “Everybody’s DEFINITELY looking at me now!”
