Sushant Singh Rajput’s Suicide Case Now Has Been Handed Over To CBI, Centre Tells Supreme Court

The centre told Supreme Court that Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case has now been handed over to the CBI. The decision was taken on the recommendation of Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Read below to know more.

One of Bollywood’s most promising actors, Sushant Singh Rajput left for heavenly abode on June 14, 2020. The Kai Po Che actor died of suicide and his dead body was found at his residence in Mumbai by his house help. The actor’s untimely demise led to many heated arguments on nepotism and lobbying culture in the Bollywood.

Netizens claimed that the late actor was boycotted by the biggies of Bollywood which allegedly pushed him into a dark place. Hearsay suggests that Sushant was battling depression for the past couple of months before deciding to take the drastic step to end his life.

The fans of the 34-year old actor have been on rage on asking for CBI probe to investigate the tragic demise. It seems like their thoughts have been heard. On August 5 2020, Sushant’s case now has been handed over to Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI), the centre told the Supreme Court.

The Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar recommended the transfer of the case to the Supreme Court. As per reports, Solicitor General of India, Tushar Mehta told Supreme Court that the Bihar government’s request to initiate a CBI inquiry into the Sushant Singh Rajput death case has been approved by the Centre.

Dil Bechara actor’s death case was being investigated by the Mumbai Police who had recorded the statement of 40 people including Sushant’s alleged girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty.

Meanwhile, Bihar Police has also been independently investigating the case following the FIR lodged by Sushant’s father K.K Singh against Rhea Chakraborty and six others for abetment to suicide.
