The sudden demise of one of Bollywood’s promising actors Sushant Singh Rajput led to heated arguments on the social media platforms about nepotism and powerful camps existing in the B-Town. Many Bollywood biggies like Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Salman Khan, and others were dragged into the debate. Even a case was filed against them in a court in Bihar which was later turned down.
However, contrary to the false narrative that has been tossed on the internet about Sushant Singh Rajput being boycotted by the big names of Bollywood, Sanjay Leela Bhansali returned constantly to the late actor with roles he couldn’t accept.
Apart from Sushant, his then-girlfriend Ankita Lokhande was also offered an item song in the 2015 SLB movie Bajirao Mastani. A source close to the project revealed that Ankita was offered an item song after Sushant turned down the role. The source further added that Bhansali had planned an elaborate lavni song-and-dance with Ankita which was a pivotal part of the movie. SLB has planned to give Ankita’s number more prominence even when Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone were the main leads.
The thing that went wrong was that Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted Lokhande to sign a three-film deal which she refused to sign. So, instead of signing some other actress for the item song, Bhansali dropped the number from the movie when Ankita didn’t sign.
Well, nor Sanjay Leela Bhansali or Ankita Lokhande has reacted to the news but it surely gives the whole nepotism and boycott debacle a new perspective.
On the work front, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is currently working with Alia Bhatt on his upcoming venture titled Gangubai Kathiawadi.
