Former actress Nagma has been a popular name in the Indian film industry. Right from starting off her career with Salman Khan’s film Baaghi: A Rebel For Love to stepping her feet into politics, Nagma has managed to leave an indelible mark every now and then. In her journey between Indian cinemas, and political arena, she was also a major part of the South Indian industry where she worked in multiple films. Despite not having a possibly successful career in the South, Nagma always cherished the industry for giving quality work, and considered it above the Bollywood industry.

Nagma Compares Bollywood To South Indian Film Industry
In a throwback interview with Lehren, Nagma discussed how she got into films, the types of roles she preferred in her career and what differences she saw in the multiple film industries. When asked about South Indian films, Nagma said that, “South film industry is much more professional in their attitude. They do more of quality work, than the Hindi film industry.” Adding further Nagma said that even though all the films, characters are the same in all the industry- but the pace of working is much more faster in the South cinema.
Nagma also said that she felt that female actresses at that point were not getting enough unique roles. It was always the same old roles of a female dancing, sobbing or acting. In the flashback interaction, Nagma also recalled how she was identified as a non-glamorous actress, but to prove their point wrong, she chose a film like Yalgaar, where she was able to prove herself as the actress who could successfully and confidently do all types of roles.
