On the occasion of New Year 2025, bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha became a hot topic of discussion on internet. As she stepped into the new year aiming to make a fresh start with husband, netizens have come out to brutally troll for the same. Sonakshi celebrated her new year’s eve in Australia with husband Zaheer Iqbal. She snapped pictures and videos of hers enjoying the fireworks that began at midnight when the clock striked to 12.00am. However, this did not sit well with the audience as they called out her ‘hypocrisy’ on the same.

People called Sonakshi as a hypocrite for urging fans to not use fire crackers that pollutes the air quality during Diwali, while she is enjoying the same on the occasion of New Year. Sonakshi’s video showed her standing against the massive fireworks at Sydney. She captioned her post, as “Humara Happy New Year ho gaya!!! Happyyyyyyy Newwwww Yearrrrrr from @sydney .
During Diwali 2024 – Sonakshi captured and shared a picture of the deterioriating condition of the sky, and wrote, “This is what the air looks like. I want to ask all those people bursting crackers right now… are you stupid or what?” in her caption. She intended to teach people that burning crackers during Diwali is causing ample harm to the air quality. A social media page brought this two different sides of Sonakshi Sinha together, calling her “hypocrite”.
As soon as the post gained attention, netizens began to brutally troll her for the double standards. A user commented, “Because she is a hypocrite. It’s funny how for these celebs, crackers cause pollution only during Diwali. New year me toh patakhon se oxygen release hoti hai.” One other individual wrote, “Bollywood is a birthplace for Hypocrites.” Also, one user wrote that Sonakshi Sinha has turned into a megacringe personality after her wedding. A different comment read that, “Almost all BW celebs can’t handle air pollution during Diwali but on New Year, they start enjoying the fireworks”.
The old Diwali post was recalled by many after seeing the couple’s celebration. Previously, Sonakshi made headlines due to the public spat between her and Mukesh Khanna over not knowing cultural and traditional epic tale stories clearly, (as alleged by veteran actor Mukesh Khanna).
