Abhijeet Bhattacharya OPENS Up On Holding Grudges Against Shahrukh Khan

Abhijeet Bhattacharya said that he felt that his dignity was hurt when he saw people around him not acknowledging his work, despite him putting best of his efforts.

Notable singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has sung innumerable songs for the bollywood’s king Shahrukh Khan. His melodious voice has always been a primary choice for matching the pace with SRK-led songs in the movie. However, the singer recently opened up on holding grudges with the actor over the long years, and also revealed why he stopped singing for SRK, despite giving so many hits altogether.

Abhijeet Bhattacharya On His Rift With Shahrukh Khan

In an interaction with ANI, Abhijeet Bhattacharya said that he felt that his dignity was hurt when he saw people around him not acknowledging his work, despite him putting best of his efforts. Quoting the singer, “When self-respect is hurt, you feel like saying, ‘Enough is enough.’ I wasn’t singing for him (Shah Rukh); I was singing for my work. But when I saw that they were acknowledging everyone–like a tea vendor who serves tea on set–but not acknowledging
the singer, I felt, ‘Why should I be your voice?

Abhijeet also mentioned that while he used to work on movies for songs, there were several people on the set as well who told him that thingd are not justified with him. Adding further he said, “This didn’t happen just once; it happened in two films. I told them to go and speak to Farah (Khan) about it, to tell her, ‘We won’t sing for the film
unless you give credit.’

Bhattacharya also drew similarities between him and SRK stating that both of them are in their 60s, and scorpios, but he also feels that he is an even bigger Scorpio and he does not need Khan’s support for anything. Although he claimed in his interaction that he does not hold any grudges with Shahrukh Khan, but he continued to admit that their relationship is no more the same and has broken after the disrespect was sensed by the artist. Abhijeet recently made headlines after the international artist Dua Lipa sung a trending “Levitating X Woh Ladki’ banger, in her concert, but did not give any credit to the singer for the same. His son Jay Bhattacharya also sent backlash upon not acknowledging his father for the popular song “Woh ladki Jo Sabse Alag Hai”, and rather just highlight SRK’s name at the top.
