Veteran actress Kumkum has passed away at the age of 86. Kumkum worked in more than 100 films. She was known for her films Mother India, Kohinoor, Ujala, Ek Sapera Ek Lootera, Naya Daur, Raja Aur Runk, Geet, Aankhen, Lalkar etc. Actor Naved Jaffrey confirmed the news on Twitter as he wrote, “We have lost another gem. I have known her since I was a kid and she was family, a superb artist and a fantastic human being. Rest in peace kunkum aunty.” Popular songs “Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar Laaga Teere Nazar” and “Yeh Hai Bombay Meri Jaan” were picturized on her. Kumkum hailed from Bihar and was known for her pairing opposite Kishore Kumar. May her soul rest in peace!
