RIP: Choreographer Saroj Khan Passes Away

Veteran choreographer Saroj Khan passed away this morning due to cardiac arrest. She was not keeping well for some time. Saroj Khan was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai on June 20 after she complained of some breathing issues. She was also tested for coronavirus, but was found negative. Saroj Khan had a career of nearly four decades in the Bollywood industry. Popularly known as ‘Masterji’, she choreographed more than 2,000 songs. She started her career in the film industry as a child artiste at the age of three and later started working as a background dancer. The three-time National Award winner had choreographed for some of the most memorable tracks, including ‘Dola Re Dol’ from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Devdas’, ‘Ek Do Teen’ from Madhuri Dixit-starrer ‘Tezaab’, ‘Ye Ishq Haaye’ from ‘Jab We Met’, ‘Main naagin tu sapera’ from ‘Nagina’ and ‘Hawaa hawaai’ from ‘Mr India’. She last choreographed for ‘Tabaah Hogaye’, featuring Madhuri from filmmaker Karan Johar’s production “Kalank” in 2019. May her soul rest in peace!
