Ranveer Singh To Make Special Appearance In Alia Bhatt Starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi?

Reports claim that Ranveer Singh will make a special appearance in Ali Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Read below to know more.

Alia Bhatt will be collaborating with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his forthcoming ambitious venture Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film is among the much-awaited films of 2020, as it will showcase Alia in a completely different avatar. The Raazi actress is all set to portray the role of Gangubai who the madam of a brothel in Mumbai’s Kamathipura area. Her role based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai.

The new update about the movie is that Bollywood’s versatile actor Ranveer Singh is all set to make a special appearance in the Alia Bhatt starrer. This will be for the second time that Alia and Ranveer will share the screen space post the 2019 Box Office hit Gully Boy.

Speaking of Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s collaboration, the actor-director duo has previously given hit films like Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat.

Sources close to the development have revealed that Ranveer’s cameo will be a powerful one. It further added that as Ranveer and SLB share a good rapport there was no chance that the actor would have turned down the special offer.

For the unversed, Gangubai Kathiawadi was slated to release on September 11, 2020, but the makers had to postpone the release date due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, it is speculated that the remaining shoot of the film will resume this month. As of now, the set of the film is covered in rain cover to avoid damage due to the monsoon.

On the work front, Alia Bhatt will be next seen in Sadak 2 alongside Pooja Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, and Aditya Roy Kapur. The film helmed by Mahesh Bhatt will be skipping the theatrical release and instead will be taking an OTT route as the theatres remain shut due to the nationwide lockdown.
