One of Bollywood’s most promising actors Rajkummar Rao is all set to star in the Hindi remake of super hit Telugu thriller HIT. The word HIT stands for Homicide Intervention Team and the cop thriller is about a police officer who is in search of a missing woman. The director of the original movie Sailesh Kolanu will also helm the Hindi remake of the same. The ace director gained a lot of praise for the original Telugu version.
Speaking about the same, Rajkummar Rao said, “When I saw ‘HIT’, I instantly connected with it. It’s an engaging story, relevant in today’s environment. As an actor, I am always on the look out to play characters I haven’t explored and ‘HIT’ gives me a chance to do that. I’m looking forward to take this journey with Sailesh and (producer) Dil Raju.”
Even Kolanu expressed his excitement on working on the Hindi remake of the cop thriller, he said, “The first case of ‘HIT’ tells the story of a police officer who is constantly fighting a battle with his past and his present. So it’s a troubled character. I wanted to cast someone who can bring that darkness to the role and still make the audience root for him with a matured performance.”
Praising the lead of the Hindi remake, Kolanu said that he felt Rajkummar Rao will be the perfect fit to evoke the kind of response he is expecting. He also mentioned that he has been following Rajkummar ever since the watched the movie Shaitan.
Kolanu later praised Rajkummar by saying that he is a brilliant actor and always managed to surprise the masses with his performances.
For the unversed, HIT is planned as a massive franchise in the South, and filmmaker Kolanu is keen to follow the same in Bollywood too. He also added that the premise of the HIT is very global and hence it can be adapted in many other versions as well as per the audiences.
On the work front, Rajkummar Rao starrer Ludo will be releasing on an OTT platform soon.
