Raashii Khanna Reveals: ‘People Asked Me If The Sabarmati Report Was A Right Choice’

Raashii Khanna, will soon be seen in a drama thriller based on the real-life incident – The Sabarmati Report. The film is poised to be a great hit on the theatres, and makers alongwith the film cast are way too happy. As the release date comes nearby, actress Raashii Khanna shared insights on the film and her experience during the making of the same. She highlighted how several people double checked on her decision of working for this movie as it is a controversial project to choose.

Vikrant Massey, Riddhi Dogra and Raashii Khanna starrer The Sabarmati Report is a real-life story based on the tragic train incident that occured back in 2002 in Gujarat’s Godhra railway station. Populary termed as the Godhra Kaand, the incident will be covered for the first-time in the form of a movie for the public to witness the unknown facts behind it. Raashii Khanna who will be essaying the role of an investigative journalist in the film reveals that it was quite challenging for her to do this film. She highlights that in her entire film career, including the work done in the South industry, there has been no one who questioned her on the kind of work she is doing. However, when she signed The Sabarmati Report, the actress revealed that she was double-checked by many close friends and family members upon her decision.

Khanna states, “There were people who questioned me that you have never taken any politicial stance in anything till now, but you are doing this film… Why are you doing this? Are you sure of it?” The Farzi actress also said that certain interrogations and seeing the script even knocked the question in Raashii’s mind if saying yes would be a right decision or not. However, she adds that when she met the team and thereafter checked the research content – she felt it was the right decision. Raashii mentions further, “People are probably assuming the film to happen in a different aspect but it is not that, instead it is purely on a human level and a tribute to the 59 people who lost their lives in the incident“.
