Anupam Kher is back with yet another inspiring new role in Vijay 69, a film that highlights the dreams and ambitions of a man at 69. In Vijay 69 trailer unveiled by Netflix, Kher portrays Vijay, an older man with the grit to take on big challenges, even as he faces stereotypes about age in society. He’s on a mission to defy expectations, saying, “You’re 69? So what, should I stop dreaming?” The film, produced by Netflix and YRF Entertainment is set to premiere on November 8, 2024.
Vijay’s journey in the movie is all about proving that age is just a number. In a pivotal scene, as he’s all ready to touch skies with fierce in his eyes, Vijay says, “Dreams don’t have an expiry date”. As he has decided to challenge himself with a triathlon. Despite his age, Vijay is determined to complete a 1.5 km swim, 40 km cycling and a 10 km run. His goal is to make a mark in life, so that, as he says, people remember him not just as someone who passed away but as someone who achieved something remarkable!
Throughout the trailer, Vijay 69 mixes humour and emotion to show Vijay’s dedication to his big dream. His friend, played by Chunky Panday, doubts Vijay’s goal but continues to support him, adding lighthearted moments to the storyline. Alongside Vijay 69, Anupam Kher will also be seen in Emergency, a film about former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film which initially delayed due to CBFC regulations and also, recently it has been cleared for the release, as confirmed by director Kangana Ranaut but the official theatrical release date is yet to be announced.
