The Sea Beast
Netflix released the animated movie, The Sea Beast, on July 1 and with the release it topped the streaming chart. The Sea Beast follows a young girl who stows away on the ship of a legendary sea monster hunter, turning his life upside down as they venture into uncharted waters.

Persuasion stars Dakota Johnson, Cosmo Jarvis, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Mia McKenna-Bruce, Richard E. Grant, and Henry Golding. Persuasion follows the plot of Austen’s original life. Anne Elliot, rich, pretty, and charming, was once madly in love with the penniless young sailor Frederick Wentworth. They were engaged to be married. But Anne’s friends and relatives convinced her that she should not throw herself away at 19 on a man who had no money and few prospects, and so she broke Wentworth’s heart.

Girl In The Picture
Netflix’s Girl in the Picture is about a young mother’s mysterious death and her son’s subsequent kidnapping opening a decades-long mystery.

Stranger Things
The series is set in the 1980s and follows a gang of teenagers in a fictional Indiana town as they combat otherworldly forces unleashed by mysterious government groups.

Resident Evil
The live-action Resident Evil series is set across two timelines, 2022, the year of the global T-virus outbreak, and 2036, 14 years later. Resident Evil Netflix synopsis read, “Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. The Netflix show follows the Umbrella Academy, a group of seven children who were born on the same day with extraordinary powers. The Netflix series is a supernatural comedy about a high schooler ready to break out of her wallflower shell. As high school comes to a close, high school senior Erika Vu, played by Lana Condor, decides to live out her dream life and engages in a wild night out.

Locke & Key
Locke and Key follow three Locke siblings and their mother. After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the trio of siblings move into their ancestral home with their mother, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death.

The Society
Based on Lord of the Flies, The Society follows privileged teens in West Ham, Connecticut who, upon returning home from an extended camping trip, find themselves trapped in their town without parents and surrounded by miles of uncharted forest that suddenly appear out of nowhere. The teens have to essentially create a society from the ground up and learn to take care of each other while also finding out what happened to the adults.
