The Lord of the Rings prequel series The Rings of Power is finally coming to the streaming platform today with two episodes. The highly-anticipated live-action series set in the fantasy world created by J.R.R. Tolkien serves as a prequel to Peter Jackson’s beloved film trilogy and explores Middle-Earth’s stories before Sauron became the Lord of the Ring.
The upcoming Amazon Prime series The Rings Of Power is set thousands of years before the main events of The Lord Of The Rings books and movies, the series will explore an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, and unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and one of the greatest villains that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness.
Season 1 features an ensemble cast including, Benjamin Walker as the Elven High King Gil-Galad, Morfydd Clark as young Galadriel, Robert Aramayo as young Elrond, Charles Edwards as the Elven prince Celebrimbor, Owain Arthur as the Dwarven prince Durin IV and Maxim Baldry as Isildur.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Time In India
Fans can stream The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power in India from September 2 at 6 p.m. on Prime Video. The remaining seven episodes of season 1 will debut every Friday. The series has already been renewed for a second season, but that instalment does not have a release date at this time. While the story is set in the familiar yet expansive Middle-earth, the biggest connections to the books and movies are the presence of two notable characters, Elrond and Galadriel.
