The last episode of Sweet Magnolias season 2 left us on the edge of our seats, waiting to know what happens in the lives of the three besties of South Carolina. In the last scene, Ryan comes back to Serenity and proposes to Helen, who had just moved on in her life and was planning a relationship with Sullivan’s chef Erik. Sweet Magnolias Season 3 was announced in May and we can’t keep calm.
Sweet Magnolias Season 3 Release Date:
The third season was announced in May as the writers of the show wrote on Twitter, “We’re going back to Serenity, y’all! We are so thrilled to share we have a Season 3 of Sweet Magnolias. Can’t wait to welcome y’all home.”
Unfortunately, the release date of the show is not known yet. The show is filmed in Covington, Georgia. We can expect season 3 to be released by spring 2023.

Sweet Magnolias Plot:
Sweet Magnolias is a feel-good TV series set in a small town called Serenity. The story revolves around three South Carolina women who are best friends since high school and shepherd one another through the complexities of romance, career, and family. Maddie’s life turns upside down when her husband Bill divorces her for a young nurse. Maddie has to now restart her life while looking after her three kids, while Bill moves in with his girlfriend Noreen, who is pregnant with their child.
Dana Sue is running a popular eatery called Sullivan’s. While she has difficulty handling her teenage daughter Annie, viewers unfold why she kicked her husband Ronnie out of her life.
Helen is a talented lawyer who is single and wishes to be a mother. She is happy on the outside but struggles to forget her teenage love Ryan. Ryan does come back in her life but he refuses to have children, which makes Helen call off the affair that restarted for a brief period.
While the lives of these three women are messy, a lot is going around in the town and in their children’s lives as well. It’s interesting to see how their lives unfold, how they stick by each other through thick and thin and how they never lose hope and keep going on with their lives.
Sweet Magnolias Season 3 Story Prediction
The excitement of Sweet Magnolias season 3 is quite too high as the lives of Maddie, Dana Sue and Helen are about to take a sharp turn with the entry of a new character, who we don’t know yet. But we know that she is here to create havoc in the lives of three best friends.
Helen will have to make the biggest choice of her life. Will she accept the marriage proposal of her teenage love Ryan, who is now ready to have children? Or will she choose Erik, who she has just started to know better and is ready to take things slow?
Meanwhile, Maddie will be introduced to her boyfriend Cal’s new behaviour which she has not seen yet. In the last episode of season 2, Cal gets terminated from his job as teacher and coach. He then gets into a fight at the restaurant and he gets arrested. Will Cal’s past and anger issues cause trouble in his relationship with Maddie?
Dana Sue has given another chance to her husband Ronnie. Meanwhile, her daughter has fallen in love with Mayor’s son, who recently turned from a bully to an extremely sweet boy, so much so that it sounds fishy at times.
Where to watch Sweet Magnolias?
The first two seasons of Sweet Magnolias are available on Netflix. And therefore, season 3 is also expected to release on Netflix.
