This sequel continues the story from the hit 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise, with Arjun reprising his role as the sandalwood smuggler, Pushpa Raj. While the movie will eventually make its way to OTT platforms, it’s rumored that Netflix may have secured the streaming rights, though it’s still some time before that happens.

A report from Aakashvaani reveals that the digital rights for the highly anticipated film have been sold to Netflix for ₹270 crores. According to reports, the makers have finalized a deal with Netflix, making it one of the most expensive and high-profile agreements in Indian cinema to date. Netflix has acquired the rights for the film’s post-theatrical release in all languages. With the jaw-dropping OTT deal, reports claimed that the film has already recovered its production budget.

Meanwhile, the makers of Pushpa 2 have shared insights into the delays affecting the film, originally set for an August 14 release. The postponement, they say, was made in the best interest of the film, its audience, and all involved. They expressed gratitude to fans and partners for their continued support and assured a commitment to delivering the best.
