Netflix Announced The Gray Man Sequel And Spin-off

The Russo Brothers have recently revealed that the Netflix movie The Gray Man's sequel and the spin-off are in making with Ryan Gosling returning to the cast.

Netflix recently announced The Gray Man sequel and spin-off. The movie, which was released in select theatres on July 15 before hitting Netflix this past Friday, debuted at No. 1 in 92 countries. Ryan Gosling is set to return for the sequel of his newly-released spy thriller The Gray Man. The sequel is set to be written by Stephen McFeely, who also co-wrote the first movie, while the spin-off will be penned by Deadpool and Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.

The makers took to the official Twitter handle of Netflix and announced the sequel and the spin-off while writing, “The Gray Man Universe is expanding! A sequel to The Gray Man is now in development with star Ryan Gosling, directors Joe & Anthony Russo & co-writer Stephen McFeely set to return!” The Tweet continues, “A spin-off is also in the works from acclaimed screenwriters Paul Wernick & Rhett Reese (Deadpool).”

However, The Russo Brothers stated in the press release, “The audience reaction to The Gray Man has been nothing short of phenomenal. We are so appreciative of the enthusiasm that fans across the world have had for this film.” They added, “With so many amazing characters in the movie, we had always intended for the Gray Man to be part of an expanded universe.”

The Gray Man makers, who also directed Avengers: Endgame, continues, “and we are thrilled that Netflix is announcing a sequel with Ryan, as well as a second script that we’re excited to talk about soon.” The Gray Man cast includes Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, Regé-Jean Page, Chris Evans, and Dhanush. While it was revealed that Ryan Gosling will return in the sequel, other details are kept under wraps.

The official synopsis for the first film reads, “The Gray Man is CIA operative Court Gentry aka Sierra Six. Plucked from a federal penitentiary and recruited by his handler, Donald Fitzro, Gentry was once a highly-skilled, Agency-sanctioned merchant of death. But now the tables have turned and Six is the target, hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen, a former cohort at the CIA, who will stop at nothing to take him out. Agent Dani Miranda has his back. He’ll need it.”
