The Addams Family first hit the television in 1991. The American supernatural black comedy film based on the characters from the cartoon created by cartoonist Charles Addams and the 1964 TV series produced by David Levy. The film focuses on a bizarre, macabre, aristocratic family who reconnect with what they believe to be a long-lost relative, Gomez’s brother Fester Addams, who is actually the adopted son of a loan shark intending to swindle the Addams clan out of its vast wealth and fortune.
However, after more than three decades, one of the film’s character is getting a series. Netflix recently announced that the only daughter in The Addams Family will have a eight episode series. Jenna Ortega will star as the lead character Wednesday. The other cast of Wednesday Addams includes, Catherine Zeta-Jones will star as Wednesday’s mom Morticia. Luis Guzmán will portray her husband, Gomez, and Isaac Ordonez will play Wednesday’s brother Pugsley and Gwendoline Christie will play the headmaster of Wednesday’s new school.

The sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery series will follow Wednesday as she navigates life at Nevermore Academy, a boarding school for outcasts. The teen attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.
Wednesday Addams Release Date
The upcoming Netflix series Wednesday Addams has not a confirmed release date for now but the streaming platform assured that the series will release late 2022. Recently, the official Twitter account of Wednesday Addams answered a fan’s question about the release date. They tweeted, “Release date? No idea. I swear on Pugley’s grave, which I’ve freshly dug.”
