Abhishek Banerjee Recalls His Struggles & How TVF Pitchers Changed His Life

Actor Abhishek Banerjee shares how he was unemployed and struggling to get work a decade ago and a tiny role in TVF Pitchers season 1 changed his life.

With the rise of OTT, actor Abhishek Banerjee has gained massive fame and fan following. Abhishek has played memorable roles in Pataal Lok, Stree, Mirzapur and many other projects. However, he first got fame with TVF Pitchers in 2015.

During the trailer launch of TVF Pitchers Season 2, Abhishek recalled his struggles as he said, “Pitchers 1 actually made me an actor. Before that, I was dejected actor. I got too many rejections from a lot of casting directors and lots of directors. Infact, I was so demotivated at that time that I had apprehensions for going for the auditions for Bhati (his role in TVF Pitchers). It was one scene role and Nidhi, who is my friend, she started calling me for this audition. And I tried to avoid that for like one good month. But when she pushed me, I went and gave the audition. I did that one scene and I forgot about it. I went back home and I never asked them also that when is it releasing. I had no clue what is happening.”

“I think, after Pitchers released, 3-4 months later, I was travelling somewhere down south and an entire bus full of engineering students starting shouting my name ‘Bhati’. I was like ‘Who are these people?’ I had no idea that I was famous. I had no idea that my line was so famous. So, I got my first fame with that one scene from Pitchers Season 1 even in India and abroad. I even got my first film due to Pitchers. So, today, if I am an actor and sitting in front of you guys, it’s because of them (TVF),” he further narrated.

Abhishek Banerjee is known for playing Bhati in Pitchers and Hathoda Tyagi in Pataal Lok.
