Amid the on-going coronavirus pandemic, many filmmakers have resorted to adhere to the social distancing laws and rule out physical contact between the main characters. It seems like ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali too will stick to the norm regarding physical intimacy and has decided to do away with a tender love sequence between Alia Bhatt and her on-screen love interest played by actor turned dancer Shantanu Maheshwari in his upcoming movie Gangubai Kathiawadi

A source close to the development has revealed that Bhansali is trying to avoid physical intimacy during the shooting and instead will be finding some other way to showcase romantic closeness. The source informed, “I guess it’s better to be safe than sorry in these troubled times. Physical intimacy would definitely be avoided in Bhansali’s shooting. He will find another way of showing a romantic closeness.”

Currently, the sets of Gangubai Kathiawadi remained covered in rain covers due to the monsoons. It is speculated that the shooting will begin from this month but the makers haven’t confirmed anything yet.

Some reports also claim that versatile actor Ranveer Singh will make a special appearance in the movie. He will have a brief yet pivotal role in the movie.

Also, Ranveer and Alia have shared the screen-space before for the 2019 movie Gully Boy. Their on-screen chemistry was loved by the masses.

The film was slated to release on September 11, 2020, but the makers had to push it forward owing to the current situation.
