Kiran Rao took to her instagram today to unveil the big news. The director-producer revealed the Japanese title of the film along with the release date. Kiran shared a Japanese dubbed trailer of the Indian film Laapata Ladies, with a caption that read, “Laapataa Ladies will be found in Japan from October 4, 2024! 🥳👏🏽 We are so excited for our theatrical release in Japan by Shochiku, Japan – arigato gozaimasu! 🙏🏽😊”

Fans in excitement praised the movie for being rich enough to now be a part of the Japanese cinemas. Comments like “Japan has good taste in movies”, “The film needs to travel far and wide”, and “It should get a National award” piled up in Rao’s comment section. Right upon its release, viewers gave it no less than a 4.5-5 star rating and loved the plot of the story a little too much.
Laapata Ladies was directed by Kiran Rao, under the production guidance of Aamir Khan, Jyoti Deshpande and Kiran herself. The film is an Indian story where two newly wed ladies get interchanged. This takes up to an adventurous comic journey of the two couple marking beautiful endings all over.
