USA Today and Fox LA reported the news after Rivera, 33, disappeared on Wednesday from a rented boat on a lake in Southern California. The news portal reached out to the office of the sheriff for comment.
During a trip to Lake Piru in Ventura County, California, the actress who played Santana Lopez on the hit FOX show for six seasons has been found missing. Rivera and her four-year-old son, Josey Dorsey, rented a pontoon boat and swimming in the water. After the boat did not return post-three-hour hire, it was discovered by workers at the lake on the north side of the water body with her sleeping son on board, but not Rivera.
A search-and-rescue operation was carried out at the location, but when Rivera was not found, officials halted the search for the night and resumed on Thursday again.
According to USA Today, both volunteers in red rescue shirts and uniformed deputies gathered at a dock. Sheriff’s officials also noted that they were waiting for additional dive teams and sonar equipment to come in to help with their operations.
Josey was wearing his lifejacket when he was found unconscious on the boat according to NBC Los Angeles. An adult lifejacket, believed to be the one given to Rivera, was still on the ships.
Since the star disappeared during her ride, Rivera ‘s friends and costars have called for prayers, with some of Rivera’s Glee costars asking fans for prayers that she soon finds.

Harry Shum Jr., who played Mike Chang on the show, simply tweeted “Praying,” as Iqbal Theba, aka Principal Figgins, wrote on Twitter, “Oh God … Mercy … please …” while sharing a report of Rivera ‘s disappearance.
Demi Lovato, who fell in love with Rivera’s Santana Lopez on Glee as a guest, wrote on her Instagram Story, “Please pray for @nayarivera to be found safe and sound,” along with a picture of a lit candle.
