The White Tiger is the latest film on Netflix that started steaming on 22 January. The film is already trending on No. 1 on the streaming app. Well, the film totally deserves your time for the reasons I am going to tell you.
1- Narration:
The film has a powerful narration by Adarsh Gourav who plays Balram a servant to his rich masters. He narrates his rise from poor villager to successful entrepreneur in modern India in an epic and darkly humorous manner. Not even at one point, you would find his narration dull, and you would just want to watch the whole film just to know what more does he have to say.
2- A bestselling story:
The film is based on a novel of the same name. The White Tiger is the debut novel of author Aravind Adiga. It was first published in 2008 and made it to the New York Times bestseller list. This common tale of a master and servant was well received and the on-screen presentation of the novel is equally amazing.
3- Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao:
If not for anything else, you can watch it for the talented actors Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao who played supporting roles. Both the actors flaunt some American accent and it just spices up the watch.
4- Performance of Adarsh Gourav:
By the time you finish watching the film, you might end up being a fan of Adarsh Gourav who has delivered a powerful performance. Despite sharing screen with A-listers like Priyanka and Rajkummar, Adarsh gave a performance of a lifetime.
5- Thought provoking quotes:
As the lead character Balram narrates his story, he speaks some interesting quotes that would really make you think twice. One of my favourite is, “Do we loathe our masters behind a facade of love – or do we love them behind a facade of loathing?”
