President Of Cinema Wing Ameya Khopkar Demands Apology From The Makers Of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, producer Asit Modi responds.

One of the most loved and long-running comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah lands into legal trouble over calling Hindi as the main language of Mumbai. Raj Thackeray’s MNS party workers even barged into the residence of Amit Bhatt aka Bapu Ji, who said the dialogue.

The president of cinema wing Ameya Khopkar has demanded for an apology over the issue and stated, “These ‘Gujarati insects’ must be stopped, and that Maharashtrian actors, part of the show should be ashamed to support a statement like this”

Producer Asit Modi has issued a statement on Twitter, he wrote, “मुंबई महाराष्ट्र में है और हमारे महाराष्ट्र की राजभाषा भाषा मराठी ही है. इस में कोई डाउट नहीं है. मैं भारतीय  हूँ . महाराष्ट्रियन हूँ और गुजराती भी हूँ. सारी भारतीय भाषाओं का सम्मान करता हूँ. जय हिन्द”

MNS General Secretary, Shalini Thackeray, also asked Maharashtra ‘sainiks’ to slap the makers, if they did not know that Marathi was Mumbai’s language.

Along with a statement from Asit, the makers also clarified their stand and specified that “The only thing we believe in spreading love and happiness! We apologize if we have hurted any sentiments through our show. We believe in unity in diversity & respect for each and every religion and its mother tongue. Keep smiling & keep watching”
