Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the shooting schedule of Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha went for a toss. Just like any other Bollywood movie project, this film also suffered the adverse effects of the COVID-19 crisis. There were speculations that the movie will be postponed as a major chunk of it is yet to be shot.
Meanwhile, as per the latest update, the makers of Laal Singh Chaddha have pushed the release date of the movie by a year. The film featuring Aamir Khan alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan will now be releasing on Christmas 2020. The postponement is followed because of the reshuffling in the planned schedule.
For the unversed, Laal Singh Chaddha is an adaptation of the Hollywood movie Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. The 1994 film was an Oscar-winning classic. The Hindi remake of the super hit movie is helmed by Advait Chandan who also directed Secret Superstar.
The film also stars Mona Singh, Manav Vij, and South sensation Vijay Sethupathi alongside Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
The film is penned by Atul Kulkarni and will be bankrolled by Viacom18 and Aamir Khan Productions. The film was originally slated to release on Christmas 2020.
Majority of the film has been shot in various parts of India and now Aamir Khan along with the team has flown to Turkey to resume the shooting.
It will be interesting to see who will now be occupying the Christmas slot for releasing their film. The makers of much-awaited films like Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai and Sooryavanshi might be in the line to grab the chance.
On the work front, Aamir Khan was last seen in the 2018 film Thugs of Hindostan. The film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif was a Box Office blunder. Since then, the 55-year old actor has been fully-focused on Laal Singh Chaddha.
