James Wan Team Up With The Supernatural Writer Robbie Thompson For A Monster Film

After the success of The Invisible Man, Universal Pictures collaborate with James Wan for a Monster Film.

The Conjuring and Saw creator James Wan has teamed up with universal pictures for a monster movie, while CW’s super hit series Supernatural’s writer and co-producer Robbie Thompson has been hired to write the script.

Reportedly, James and Robbie will be taking inspiration from previous universal monster films such as Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Wolf Man and Creature from the Black Lagoon. However, wan will not be directing the film but he’ll produce via his atomic monster banner.

Previously James had planned to create an interconnected Monster universe when they released Tom Cruise starrer The Mummy, but the film duped in the box office and later decided to focus on less expensive projects, then came the film The Invisible Man, which received wide acclaim from critics and audiences alike, the film has grossed $57 million worldwide on a $7 million budget in less than two weeks.
