Zendaya Reacts To Her First Golden Globe For HBO’s Euphoria

Zendaya shared a photo from the HBO series Euphoria and expressed her gratitude after winning her very first Golden Globe Award.

Zendaya recently won the Golden Globes award for Best Television Actress for her amazing work in the hit HBO series, Euphoria. The actress wasn’t able to attend the award ceremony to accept the honour seemingly due to her work commitments. However, the actress expressed her gratitude after winning her very first Golden Globe Award on social media.

Zendaya took to her social media and shared a black-and-white photo of herself on the set of the show. Alongside the photo, the actress penned in the caption, “I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to be there tonight, but I just wanted to say thank you to @goldenglobes for this incredible honour.” Euphoria star added in the caption, “To my fellow nominees, it is a privilege to be named beside you, I admire you all deeply.’

Zendaya then expressed gratitude writing, “Thank you to my Euphoria family, without you, none of this is possible. Lastly, thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has allowed Rue into theirs. I think everyone knows how much she means to me, but the fact that she can mean something to someone else is a gift.” She concluded her gratitude note penning, “I’m honestly at a loss for words as I type this, all I can say is thank you. Goodnight.”

Zendaya also shared a photo of herself from the show on her Instagram Stories. This marked the first time she had been nominated for a Golden Globe and won the award. Meanwhile, it is not clear, which project the actress is working on, though she has several projects under her belt for later this year. One of the projects is the third season of Euphoria in which she portrays high school student Rue Bennett, who struggles with sobriety.

Euphoria’s second season premiered in January 2022 and was renewed for a third the following month after the second season’s huge success. Zendaya left behind Emma D’Arcy who was up for House of the Dragon, Laura Linney (Ozark), Imelda Staunton (The Crown), and Hilary Swank (Alaska Daily) for the award. Additionally, Zendaya has already won two primetime Emmys, making her the youngest person to win in the outstanding lead actress in a drama series category.
