And according to a report in Deadline, the most prominent issues seems to be the shooting schedule of Kevin Costner who play the main lead.

It seems not everything is hunky-dory between Kevin Costner and the makers of his popular western drama ‘Yellowstone’. Kevin who plays the John Dutton (Kevin Costner), a the sixth generation Dutton to own the ranch and leads his family through difficult times with developers, could potentially exit the series.

And according to a report in Deadline, the most prominent issues seems to be the shooting schedule of Kevin. Show’s current star Kevin Costner, 68, is reportedly having disagreements over shooting schedules. The friction is allegedly causing morale issues with fellow actors on the show and to solve this ongoing problem series creator Taylor Sheridan and Paramount are now planning to end the original ‘Yellowstone’ series in some way. Then they will start working on new expansion of the ‘Yellowstone’ franchise starring Matthew McConaughey, 53.

“We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come. Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan, we are always working on franchise expansions of this incredible world he has built. Matthew McConaughey is a phenomenal talent with whom we’d love to partner,” a Paramount Network spokesperson told Deadline.

The Season 4 of the ‘Yellowstone’ became the most-watched show this year, watched by around 16 million people. The series began airing the first half of the 5th season, which consisted of eight episodes, back in November 2022 and rest second half of another eight episodes are due to launch later this year. There has been no news of a sixth season of the show till now.

Premiered on June 20, 2018, ‘Yellowstone’ has proven to be one of the most popular shows on television during its run, which led to the makers coming up with two new prequels- ‘1883’ and ‘1923’, the latter of which is currently airing its first season on Paramount+ with a second season already ordered.
