Pinkett shared a video from the celebration and penned, “I’m so grateful for all the birthday love yesterday.” The Smith family gathered with friends for an outdoor celebration in which everyone sang ‘Happy birthday to Pinkett Smith.’

The Oscar-winner actor also sang along to his spouse at the celebration. Also visible in the clip were the couple’s children, son, Jaden, and daughter, Willow. In the video, Jada said to those present, ‘I’m just grateful, just deeply grateful,’ to which Will added, ‘The end… she’s grateful… highest virtue.’ The birthday bash was complete with a table full of treats, including a cake decked out with candles and petals. The Smith family had a tough year as Will was in the headlines as he slapped Chris Rock during the live telecast of the Oscars after the comedian made a joke at Pinkett Smith. Smith has subsequently apologized on multiple occasions over the incident and resigned from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences ahead of being issued a 10-year ban from the Oscars. Pinkett Smith previously spoke about how she hoped to move forward from the incident on her Facebook Watch series.

Jada said, “About Oscar night: My deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile. With the state of the world today, we need ’em both, and we all actually need one another more than ever. The actress went on to say, “Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years and that keeps figuring out this thing called life together.” In an apology he issued in July over the incident, Smith said his spouse ‘had nothing to do with his attack on Rock.
